Digital day and night observation
The NV2180 combines a binocular-style handheld housing, a built-in viewing screen and adjustable infrared illumination. Watch outdoor scenes, photograph an observation or record a video using the buttons on the top of the device. This is a digital infrared device, rather than a thermal camera.
Screen, image effects and controls
The supplier describes a 3.2 inch TFT display and four image effects: colour, black and white, green and an infrared-style colour effect. These are display effects; they do not represent four separate sensor systems. Use the menu, mode, IR adjustment, power and capture buttons directly on the housing.
Infrared illumination and digital zoom
Seven IR brightness levels let you adjust illumination for a darker scene. The feature illustrations specify up to 8x digital zoom. Digital zoom enlarges the captured image and can reduce visible detail; it is not 8x optical magnification.
The supplier illustrates night viewing at up to 300 m and gives examples at 50 m, 150 m and 300 m. These images are supplier illustrations, not a guaranteed recognition distance. Ambient light, IR setting, weather, target size and contrast affect the result.
Take photos, record video and transfer files
The supplier lists photo output up to 36 MP and video output up to 4K. These figures describe recording settings and do not establish native sensor resolution or independently measured image detail. Recorded files can be transferred to a computer for viewing and storage.
Rechargeable power for outdoor use
The supplier battery illustration specifies 2600 mAh and a USB-C connection. It states approximately 13 hours with infrared switched off or 6 hours with infrared on according to the supplier; detailed test conditions are not given. Temperature, screen brightness, recording and IR intensity affect actual runtime.
The supplier declares an IP54 rating for outdoor protection. No independent test certificate for this exact unit has been verified. Do not immerse the device, and keep the charging connection dry.
